The figures “the beer people” represent an idealistic, hopeful and confident society, searching for new perspectives and solutions, proclaiming freedom of thought and action, invoking new ideas questioning individuality, consciousness, societies value system, the information overload through mass media, observing mankind through the course in our time.

The message in this series of works is a positive and playful response to complex and difficult times, inspired by new visions and ideas as a chance for a process of regeneration in an ever-changing world. These luminescent object boxes are constructed with wood, paper and glass. The front-side of the object comprises glass, where the surface is printed with the binary number code. The binary number code consists of lyrics from her songs, which have been translated into the code. This serves as a curtain of information, symbolizing our technologically advanced and digitally oriented society.

The series of luminescent Band Boxes are works, created with the “beer people” as a band, playing instruments in a stage setting. Each figure, including the instrument, is torn and folded out of one single paper ring, there are no additional parts, except for the tooth pick, which is attached to the back side for stability. The lighting for all of the luminescent object boxes is 12 volts LED.
